We speak to many potential brides at the Wedding Fayres and some say that it is confusing when deciding which photographer and albums that they wish to invest in.

Therefore I thought it may be useful to put some guidelines down…. Here goes!

Most importantly – make sure you like the photographer/s!

Do you like the photographs that the photographer is showing to you?

Does their style suit you?

Have you seen one or more complete Weddings by her/him? Or just a few selected images?

You have? Good. Assuming that you love what you have seen, the next step is to have a look at the layout of the images within the Albums.

• Is it just one image per page?
• Are there several images on the page?
• Is it a montage style?

These are your photographs and you need to be happy with the layout and presentation – you do have an input!

The pages of the Albums are displayed in three ways.

1.         Overlays – One border or overlay around the entire edge of the page.

2.         Cut out overlays – One overlay with between 2 to 5 windows cut out and your images are placed behind.

3.         Montage Style – Your chosen images are skillfully placed and displayed to their best advantage, the background can be any colour and toned to suit colours within the image.

Once you have decided on which page layout and display appeals to you the most, you have the Album itself to think about!

• Do you want one that is going to make a statement and sit on the coffee table?
• Do you prefer something smaller?
• Do you want anything on the cover – such as a small plaque?
• What type of Album Cover? These days they come in acrylic, metal, wood, leather, satin to say nothing of a wide variety of colours.

How many pages in your Album? Well that depends on the style you prefer!
